Along with two amazing designers, we created new visual identity for UNICEF 75th Anniversary. The design intends to leverage UNICEF history, experience and vision, reinforcing our equity message – for every child.

For 75 years, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has been working tirelessly for child rights and for the well-being of every child. Whoever they are. Wherever they live.

Since UNICEF was established, in the aftermath of World War II, we have been at the frontlines of humanitarian crises, armed conflict and natural disasters. Undeterred by the scale of the crises, we rise to the challenge, reimagine what is possible and respond by helping millions of children survive and thrive. Our on-the-ground expertise has reached more than 191 countries and territories, through committed partnerships and a passion for innovation.

Our Design Brief:

  • Works across languages and cultures to elevate the UNICEF brand

  • Reinforces our position as the leading organization for children and young people

  • Showcases our extensive track record in an engaging way

  • Aligns with the Reimagine campaign and works compatibly with new and emerging initiatives

  • Creates a vessel to speak about our priority areas – including health, nutrition and vaccines, education, climate / WASH, Mental Health and Humanitarian

  • Digital first design (vs physical events)

  • Emphasizes our readiness and future-focus on delivering a better world for children

UNICEF 75 Logo

The UNICEF brand style characteristics – simple, bold, optimistic and contemporary – guided the design development of the 75th Anniversary logo lockup. The colors and the graphic elements of the 75th Anniversary visual identifier allow for modular messaging around our programming and advocacy priorities:

  • Orange: Health, nutrition and vaccines

  • Yellow: Education

  • Green: Climate and WASH

  • Purple: Mental health

  • Cyan: Humanitarian response

Logos were available in 84 languages, including 6 UN official languages.

UNICEF 75 ICONS:

The colors and the graphic elements of the 75th Anniversary visual identifier allow for modular messaging around UNICEF’s programming and advocacy priorities — Health, nutrition and vaccines; Education; Climate and WASH; Mental health; and Humanitarian response — demonstrating that the organization works to meet the needs of the whole child.
